This 1,000 watt continuous use converter works with either 50 Hz or 60 Hz power systems, allowing for a step up from 110-volt/120-volt single phase to 220-volt/240-volt single phase. It also works as a step down converter, should you need to reduce the voltage. A simple on/off switch on the transformer and an indicator light lets you know when the unit is in operation. Work with this continuous use transformer in Europe or Asia by swapping out the North American plug for the grounded European Schuko plug that is included in the kit. For safety, it's recommended by the manufacturer that the voltage transformer's maximum power should be equal or greater than the power rating of your appliance multiplied by 1.5. For example, if you have an appliance rated at 100 watts, you will need to pick a transformer with a maximum power of 150 watts or greater. The unit also features a circuit breaker which protects the equipment and the transformer against overload. With circuit breaker protection should never need to replace fuses.
