The full speed of the USB 3.0 Universal Dual Video Docking Station is unleashed when connected to one of your laptop's USB 3.0 ports. The five gigabit per second SuperSpeed USB connection enables you to add two additional monitors at HD resolution (in Primary, Extend or Mirror modes), stream video over a gigabit Ethernet connection, and transfer files over the USB 3.0 Universal Dual Video Docking Station's two USB 3.0's ports. Although the best performance is achieved by using your computer's USB 3.0 port, the USB 3.0 Universal Dual Video Docking Station still offers incredible functionality when connected to a USB 2.0 port. That USB 2.0 connection, however will limit the docking station's total bandwidth to 480Mbps, limiting the data transfer rate of the USB 3.0 Universal Dual Video Docking Station's USB ports and the speed of the Ethernet port. Need to use any bus-powered USB devices like flash drives or webcams? The included power supply provides up to four amps to the docking station for any attached bus-powered USB 2.0 or 3.0 devices.
